DENVER - April 16, 2007 - Adriel Heisey captures aerial photos not by plane, but a hand-built Ultra-light aircraft that he controls with his knee so that his hands are free to photograph the landscape below.

Mindscapes: The Aerial Photography of Adriel Heisey opens at The Wildlife Experience on Friday, May 4 in the community gallery with 27 dramatic color photographs, including personal observations by Heisey about each print.

Heisey has captured mysterious and compelling images of the American Southwest landscape that move between pure documentation and powerful abstraction.

“My work lives in a place that quietly breathes with infinite form and color, a place that both invites and resists the grasp of the human imagination. A place unparalleled, a place from the sky,” said Heisey.

Visitors can see Mindscapes May 4 through June 10, 2007 at The Wildlife Experience.

A natural history and wildlife art museum, The Wildlife Experience is located at 10035 South Peoria St., Parker, CO., one mile east of I-25 at the intersection of Lincoln Ave. and S. Peoria. For admission prices, museum and giant screen theater hours, and information on special exhibits, please call 720.488.3300 or visit thewildlifeexperience.org.
