DENVER - September 19, 2006 - The award-winning large-format film, Beavers, will be the biggest dam movie The Wildlife Experience has ever shown!

Beavers plunges into the habitat of one of nature’s greatest engineers for an intimate look. Through the impressive imagery of large-format film, the viewer is drawn into the story of a family of beavers as they grow, play and transform the world around them. According to Stephen Low, director of Beavers, “we wanted to allow the audience to swim and play amongst these creatures, face dangers with them and know their story.” Pairing the subject with the technology and the magic of large-format film, Low has created a film that immerses the audience directly into the world and habitats of these shy and mysterious creatures.

Filmed mostly in the Canadian Rockies, Beavers illustrates the force of change beavers can have on a landscape and the environment - both positive and negative changes. What emerges from the film is an entertaining and educational survey of the lives of beavers, the struggles and dangers they face and the fierce loyalty and sense of community within a colony of beavers.

Beavers will begin showing in the Extreme Screen Theater at The Wildlife Experience on October 28, 2006 and will show through October 2007. For more information on this film and The Wildlife Experience, call (720) 488-3300 or visit thewildlifeexperience.org.
