DENVER—March 21, 2006—The Wildlife Experience added a new piece to its already impressive collection of outdoor sculpture. Adjacent to the water feature in the picturesque museum courtyard, the Exhibits and Collections staff will install a dramatic collection of wolf sculptures called “Wolf Pack”.

“The Wolf Pack” is a collection of three wolves, sculpted by Veryl Goodnight, that are captured in stances commonly found in nature; one is trotting, another is howling and the third is sniffing the ground as it tracks prey. Goodnight spent time observing wolves in a refuge in New Mexico for preparation and accuracy during the sculpting of the animals. The slightly over-sized wolves, each weighing between 400-450 pounds, were installed in a new exhibit at the Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago in May of 2005. The Wildlife Experience is the second location to display the wolves, and also proudly displays two other sculptures by Goodnight; “The Bronc,” which is located on the southeast corner of the museum grounds, and “Back from the Brink,” which is currently on display in the lobby of the Extreme Screen Theater.
