Press Release
Become One With Nature at The Wildlife Experience
DENVER - April 19, 2005 - The Wildlife Experience is taking you outside to enjoy nature and some of the museum’s impressive sculptures from its permanent collection. On Earth Day, April 22nd, the fine art and conservation museum will officially open The Nature Trail.
The National Wildlife Federation has recently certified The Wildlife Experience as a "Backyard Habitat." This certification is largely due to native landscaping and the habitats it provides for animals. The trail takes visitors around the outside of the museum to enjoy numerous indigenous plants and animals. Interpretive signs escort visitors along their walk, providing information about the native grasses, trees and wildflowers that grow on the grounds of the museum. These signs will also draw attention to the host of creatures regularly seen around the museum and they will also touch on local conservation topics such as water-wise practices and the negative impacts of littering.
The Nature Trail begins at the main plaza entrance into The Wildlife Experience and winds around the museum to a wetland area, where a future observation deck will allow visitors to enjoy red-winged blackbirds, marsh wrens and a beautiful view of the Rocky Mountains.
The Nature Trail is made possible through a recent partnership with CH2M HILL.
