ArtReach and The Wildlife Experience Are Decking the Halls

DENVER – November 4, 2004 - ArtReach's annual Festival of Trees, Denver's most enduring holiday tradition, will be decorating the halls of The Wildlife Experience for the second year in a row. Over one hundred and fifty designer decorated trees, wreaths and other holiday treasures will co-exist amongst the south-Metro area museum's dynamic fine art and natural history displays.

The Festival of Trees is the principal fundraising activity that supports ArtReach, Inc., a non-profit organization committed to “changing lives through the arts,” by providing year round arts programs to more than 200 organizations serving at-risk and under-served populations in the seven-county metro area. ArtReach also receives funding from the SCFD and grants from corporations and foundations.

Bidding on auction items, including gift baskets, trees, wreaths, swags and centerpieces will take place during the Festival of Trees from November 19-December 4. High bids for each item will be posted on the ArtReach website daily. Raffle tickets will be available throughout the duration of the event and the drawing will take place on Saturday, December 4 at 9:45 pm. Tickets can be purchased at the information table near the main entrance of The Wildlife Experience Museum.

Fortunately, this unique community service organization receives at no cost, over $1.5 million worth of tickets from cultural, historical and scientific venues which are distributed to those who otherwise might never have the opportunity to participate in such experiences. Last year over 59,000 tickets were distributed to 1,181 events.

Dates for this year's festival are November 19 – December 5, 2004 (The Wildlife Experience is closed on Mondays and Thanksgiving Day.). Admission will be $6 for adults, $5 for seniors, $4 for children (ages 5 to 12) and free to children under 5. Santa will be present each weekend from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Festival of Trees will be hosting a Santa Breakfast on November 26, 27 and 28, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Kids will enjoy holiday crafts, face painting, cookie decorating, lots of goodies and many festive activities. Please call (303) 433-2882 x 252 for more information and to purchase tickets. Reservations are required as space is limited. All tickets must be purchased in advance. Tickets will not be available at the door.

The 2004 Festival of Trees is sponsored by: RE/MAX, Channel 4, KOSI 101, The Wildlife Experience Museum, The Denver Post, Swingle Tree and Holiday Decor, FirstBank, Colorado Parent Magazine, Student Movers, US Bank, David L. Tandy Foundation/Playnix Toys.
