Firefall Acoustic Trio Unplugged To Perform at The Wildlife Experience
DENVER- February 6, 2004 - A band that has toured the world and sold more than 5 million records will help The Wildlife Experience celebrate the opening of the Society of Animal Artists' 43rd annual exhibition of Art and the Animal. Firefall Acoustic Trio Unplugged shares top billing with delectable desserts at the Art, Chocolate and Music opening gala at The Wildlife Experience, Friday, Feb. 13, 6-10 p.m.
Formed in 1974, the Boulder band hit the popularity charts in the late 1970s, saturating national airwaves and achieving one platinum and three gold albums. Over the years, Firefall has evolved into an acoustic band. Bandleader, guitarist and lead vocalist Jock Bartley says that, "In the acoustic 'unplugged' framework, every talent is much more exposed. You have to be strong and confident. We are."
The son of a musician mother and commercial artist father, Bartley is also an artist, dividing his attention between music and art since in the 1990s. He is currently working with art galleries in several Western cities, including Santa Fe, Moab, Vail and Denver, and will display and sell his art during the Art, Chocolate and Music preview of the Art and the Animal exhibit.
Tickets for Art, Chocolate and Music are $40, or $75 for two. For reservations, contact Dana Slechta by February 10, at dslechta@twexp.org or (720) 488-3312.
Art and the Animal opens to the public at The Wildlife Experience on Saturday, Feb. 14, and will close March 28. For more information on the show and the Art, Chocolate and Music event, call (720) 488-3300.
