The Society of Animal Artists at The Wildlife Experience

DENVER-December 28, 2003-The Society of Animal Artists is returning to The Wildlife Experience, where it held its 2002 premiere show and is scheduled to exhibit for several years to come. An annual art event, the SAA's prestigious touring exhibition showcases the finest in wildlife art from around the world.

SAA's 43rd annual "Art and the Animal" features nearly 130 artworks by more than 100 artists. The show opens at The Wildlife Experience on Feb. 14, 2004, and will close March 28.

The mission of The Society of Animal Artists is to promote excellence in the portrayal of animals, both wild and domestic. Since the society's founding in 1960, works created by its members have established new standards of artistic excellence and respect, helping animal art to achieve a place of honor in the field of fine art.

A worldwide organization headquartered in New York City, the Society of Animal Artists has a worldwide membership. SAA members include many whose works number among The Wildlife Experience's permanent collection.

To celebrate the opening of "Art and the Animal," The Wildlife Experience will host "Art, Chocolate and Music" the evening of Feb. 13. Guests of this event will be invited to a special preview of "Art and the Animal," indulge themselves in a variety of delectable desserts, and enjoy the music of "Firefall" Acoustic Trio Unplugged. Tickets for this event are $40, or $75 for two. For reservations, contact Dana Slechta by Feb. 10, 2004 at dslechta@twexp.org or (720) 488-3312.
