The Bio-diverse Art of Carel Pieter Brest van Kempen
at The Wildlife Experience

DENVER-October 1, 2003-The Wildlife Experience proudly announces the arrival of Bio-Diversity in Wildlife Art: The Art of Carel Pieter Brest van Kempen. This exhibit is a retrospective of Brest van Kempen's work, and illustrates his resplendent and richly detailed sytle.

Bio-Diversity in Wildlife Art: The Art of Carel Pieter Brest van Kempen, a retrospective, contains numerous paintings and illustrations from one of America's best-known and well-respected wildlife artists. Carel Pieter Brest Van Kempen's work has been exhibited throughout the world and can be found in the permanent collections at the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum, Wausau, WI, and The World Center for Birds of Prey, Boise, ID, among others.

Utilizing field research techniques, Carel Pieter Brest Van Kempen's paintings demonstrate an unparalleled authenticity towards his subjects earning him numerous awards including the prestigious "Award of Excellence" from the Society of Animal Artists for 1994, 1996 and 1997 as well as the acclaim from artists, collectors, and scientists worldwide. The use of field research combined with a background in biology, Brest van Kempen has the unique ability to portray an animal, reptile and habitat with astounding detail and accuracy.

Brest van Kempen grew up around Emigration Canyon, Utah, and from an early age developed a passion for the natural world and the wonderful creatures that inhabit out planet. As an artist, Brest van Kempen is primarily "self-taught" Although he participated in art courses during high school, he has relied on instinct, observation and the generous advice of fellow artists. Once he decided to follow his passion and talent, he lived in his van for nearly a year while he focused on his research and painting.

Bio-Diversity in Wildlife Art: The Art of Carel Pieter Brest van Kempen opens at The Wildlife Experience on November 1, 2003 and remains until January 4, 2004.
