LeRoy Neiman Shows His Wild Side
at The Wildlife Experience

DENVER-July 30, 2003-The Wildlife Experience is proud to announce the arrival of the LeRoy Neiman: On Safari exhibit. The pieces are indicative of his splashy and exciting style, but Neiman has shifted his focus from cultural icons to something a little more wild for this collection of work.

LeRoy Neiman: On Safari arrives at The Wildlife Experience on September 13, 2003 and will be available until February 1, 2004. The exhibit is comprised of nearly seventy pieces of art that were inspired by a trip to Kenya Mr. Neiman made in 1994. On Safari is a mixed-media exhibit that portrays LeRoy Neiman's skill and mastery of oil, acrylic and enamel paints, to his use of crayons, charcoal, serigraphy and watercolors.

Recognized as the most well-known living American artist, LeRoy Neiman is recognized for his portraits of sports figures, celebrities and sporting scenes. LeRoy Neiman: On Safari is a departure from his signature works, thus exhibiting the depth and scope of his incredible talent. On Safari is comprised of an impressive array of wildlife that Neiman observed while in Africa. The artist has assembled a beautiful collection of wildlife art for this exhibit, including lions, elephants, cape buffalo, rhinoceros, warthog, baboon, wildebeest and hippopotamus. Neiman has also included portraiture of African Maasai people.

As a companion to LeRoy Neiman: On Safari, an exhibit of twenty sports-related serigraphs will also be shown. These pieces include images from the Denver Broncos, ski slopes and championship golf.

LeRoy Neiman will make every effort to be in Denver for an opening gala at the Wildlife Experience on September 12, 2003. He will make a few comments and sign books following the dinner portion of the event. A handsome, full-color 48-page catalogue will be available at the exhibition.
